Launched two years ago by Ravenna Nightmare, the Festival Premieres are a series of preview screenings promoting auteur cinema. Visioni Fantastiche joins the initiative and, before the beginning of the Festival in October, will propose – in collaboration with CinemaCity Ravenna – some of the most representative titles of today’s fantastic cinema. Besides having a reduced price, the screening ticket is a free entrance to be used during the nine days of October in which the Festival will take place (21/29 October 2019).
For Visioni Fantastiche’s first Premiere, the long-awaited live-action remake of the 1992 Disney classic, Aladdin, will be presented at CinemaCity, in a special afternoon screening for just 5€.
Disney continues to relaunch its great stories with this new remake of the animated cult released 27 years ago. The director is Guy Ritchie, known for his unmistakable action touch, and the multifaceted Will Smith stands out in the cast, in the role of the Genius. The story of Aladdin, Jasmine, Jafar and all the characters of this timeless classic returns on the screen with many new features in an adventure fantasy musical that can’t be missed.
If the inspiration to the famous oriental novel of “Aladdin and the marvelous lamp” remains unchanged, the same cannot be said of the narration, which expands the universe of the original 1992 through a set of actors still little known but already appreciated by the international press. Mena Massoud is Aladdin, the unfortunate but adorable street boy in love with Princess Jasmine, the beautiful daughter of the Sultan played by Naomi Scott. Marwan Kenzari is Jafar, the evil sorcerer who devises a diabolical plan to dismiss the Sultan, embodied by Navid Negahban, and reign over Agrabah.
