The Online Edition of Visioni Fantastiche / Fantastic Visions continues with The Essence of Everything by Daniele Barbiero, winner of the award for the Best Short Film of the 16+ Competition during the first edition of the Festival. We thank the director and the entire crew of the film for having joined our proposal inspired by the slogan #laculturanonsiferma (“culture does not stop”), agreeing to make their work available online for free for one week.

Gea and Lucius get to know each other on a dating app, only she is Life and he is Death. Or rather their personification, disguised in human form to fulfill their respective duties. They meet for the most embarrassing and disastrous romantic dinner since the beginning of time, also confirming humanity’s fear that the balance of the world hangs by a thread. But even they have a question, which remains unanswered: how does love work?
